20ft Open Side Container. Customers who seek quick and simple access to the products stored within are quite fond of these 20-foot shipping containers with side openings that only require one trip. frequently used to store pallets or other large, bulky objects that would be difficult to fit through the end doors of a typical shipping container.

The conversion of 20-foot shipping containers into self-contained mobile exhibition stands, cafes and snack stalls, and retail establishments has recently attracted a lot more interest. These are also widely used in biomass boilers, generator housings, and a variety of specialized engineering applications.

The side opening doors are always on the right side of the unit when looking at the regular cargo doors when looking at the end opening doors from the outside. Containers with left-side openings are occasionally available, although not as frequently as we’d like.

20ft Open Side Container. These single-trip 20-foot shipping containers with side openings are highly popular for export use when transporting cars or bulky commodities that are difficult to load through end doors. Only a few of the side opening container ranges feature floor mounted lashing points; if you require them for securing your cargo, please let us know when you request a quote.

These provide excellent, secure storage with simple access. This is the best option if you need to store pallets but don’t want to waste time getting a pallet out of the wrong end of a regular shipping container. A side opening container is the perfect choice if you require quick access to products or if you’re keeping any stock that is too large to fit through the end doors of a shipping container.

Please get in touch with us for an estimate as regional availability and costs may differ somewhat. There is a lot of specialized engineering that goes into these side doors, and because they are specialist containers, they aren’t built in the kinds of volumes that standard shipping containers are, so the factories can’t offer the same economies of scale. As a rough estimate, these cost about twice as much as a standard, end opening new build container.

Please contact us to discuss alternate options if cost is a key concern. For example, we may be able to fit roller or cargo doors into the side of a new or used shipping container. We might also be able to adapt a container so that it has side curtain access. You are more than welcome to phone us during business hours if it helps you decide what could be the best or most practical option for you before firming up prices in writing. We can talk over several options and approximate expenses to assist you make that decision.

Please be aware that these are not brand new and are being marketed as “one trip containers.” There might be some little cosmetic wear from this first trip. Minor dings and scrapes are fairly typical, and your container may have tire marks within it from where a forklift truck or something similar may have unloaded things from inside.
